Attorney, Merita Rice, started her legal career in 2000, when she commenced her paralegal studies which she graduated in the top 1% of her class, and immediately thereafter joined a mid-size law firm in Houston, Texas. She later attended the South Texas College of Law in Houston, where she obtained her Degree of Doctor of Jurisprudence in 2007, was included in the Deans Honor List, and received several CALI Excellence for the Future Awards. Upon getting licensed by the Supreme Court of Texas, she was employed as an attorney by a Houston law firm. In January of 2010, she founded The Rice Law Firm, PLLC with its principal office in The Woodlands, TX.
Ms. Rice is an experienced immigration attorney who handles a wide variety of immigration cases and has a very high rate of success with immigration cases. She dedicates her success to the fact that she handles each case as if it is her only case, and she treats each client as if that is her only client. Furthermore, she is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (“AILA”), an organization whose members either practice exclusively immigration law, or immigration is a major part of their law practice. By being a member of AILA, the immigration lawyer receives daily updates on immigration law, and learns of any new immigration law the moment such law is passed, enabling her to serve her clients the best.
​Furthermore, Ms. Rice is a member of the State Bar of Texas, Houston Bar Association, and The Woodlands Bar Association. When she is not practicing law, she is spending quality time with her family, playing tennis and golf, or learning a new foreign language.​
